Free Roof Shingles – Tuin Information and Support

We offer a selection of roof shingles as a free option for all our Log Cabin orders. Please see more information on Free Roof Shingles.

We recommend to use shingles on our cabins that have the pitched roof as these have a much better longevity than normal roofing felt. These do also look a lot nicer on the roof of the cabin.

With the free offer roof shingles, these are last years stock so it can sometimes be limited for the options that we have available within this offer. Due to this, we cannot guarantee you will receive a certain type. However, if your choice was to ever become availble our orders department will contact you to offer different options.

You may also find that in the building options, we also have a purchased shingle option. This is because some customers will only want a certain type of shingle that we might not currently have in our free offer. Therefore, this gives you the option to purchase these with the cabin and will guarantee you will receive the option you have selected.

Please note, if you opt for the purchased shingles you will not also receive the free shinlges. This is because the purchased shingles are already at a discounted price when purchasing these with a building.

With the free offer shingles, these will come included with the clout nails needed to install these. The shingles will also have a bitchumen strip along the back, this does require the heat of the sun in the warmer months to activate this.

The shingles do not come with shingle glue included. Shingle glue, is mainly recommended in the colder months as there is not enough warm weather to activate the bitchumen strip along the back of the shingles. But this is always recommended if you are in an exposed location.

Whilst shingles are a great roofing option, these cannot be used on all of the roof types that we offer. For the shingles to work effectively, these will need to be installed at a roof pitch of at least ten degrees. Therefore, for our cabisn that have a flat/pent roof, these would not be suitable an if used could cause the roof to leak. On these cabins we have the option of EPDM, Easy Roofing or Standard roofing felt:
