When you are fitting your roof boards it is important to consider the time of year you install it. Humidity can cause roof boards to buckle.
When the roof boards are installed during the summer months, you will need to leave a 1 - 2mm gap in between each board. To account for expansion of the timber during the winter months.
It is very important that each roof board is secured by two nails across every junction, to avoid roof buckle in the wetter months.
Having good ventilation inside the cabin will also help the cabin with the movement of the roof boards. For example, if you have things inside such as heaters or fridges, then we would advise adding air vents inside the cabin. Treatment the cabin inside will also help with this, as well as having a DPM on top of the cabins base.
