Log cabins like the Wolfgang, Jannie and the Klass with have a canopy post that supports the roof of your log cabin, so need extra support.
To keep the roof level and to support the canpoy area, we have an adjustable post support that does the job nicely. This will come included with cabins that have posts that go down to the cabins base. These help to raise the post off of the ground.
Place the post support under the post with the small plate on top. Then secure the bottom plate using four bolts, the threaded bolt then can be adjusted up and down to keep the roof aligned.
Some customers will make a brick plinth or decorative timber block to support it.
We would always recommend to use the adjustable post supports on these cabin posts, rather than concreting the post in the ground. With the adjustable post support, this will allow you to adjust the nut on this, to copy the cabins movements, as the logs will shrink and expand.
