For further advice on timber frame bases please see this page: Timber Frame Bases

The cabin will sit on a premade timber frame with the logs being supported 100% throughout their length and 100% level and square.

The timber frame can be supported by pads or timber as you require and shown in the examples.

The purpose of foundation beams is to take protect the first log from ground contact, a timber frame will accomplish the same thing so may not necessarily need to be used.

For aesthetics it is good to use the profiled composite foundation beams as these will create a lip all around aiding drainage and ensuring so water sits against or under the first log: Composite Foundation Beams
